The 46th Annual SaPaDaPaSo St. Patrick's Day parade celebration will be a "drive-by" parade at Hawkeye Downs.

  • Circle the race track in your vehicle and view all the stationary parade entries in the infield
  • Vote for your favorite entry
  • The first 200 vehicles get a free swag bag filled with candy, coupons, and Irish trinkets
  • No need to get out of your vehicle, social distancing enforced.

St Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick’s Day or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, “the Day of the Festival of Patrick”) is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17 March. It is named after Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland.

Parade Registration

This is a stationary parade where attendees drive around the track without leaving their vehicles
Entry Fees: $200 Political - $65 Commercial Entry - $30 Non-Profit/Entry
All participants must be set up by 1 PM. No exceptions. We will accommodate media and judging between 1 PM - 2 PM
The drive-thru parade ends at 4 PM. No participants will be allowed to leave before 4 PM due to the expected flow of traffic. No exceptions.
  • Please describe your entry. The information provided will be read by TV announcers and used by parade judges. Provide details on your Irish theme, years in the parade, participants, costumes, business information and/or family information.
  • We plan to give swag bags to the first 200 vehicles of the "drive-by parade."

  • Entrant agrees to READ AND OBEY all parade rules. The entrant holds harmless SaPaDaPaSo and its representatives for all liability while participating in the parade. Entrant agrees to educate all participants on the rules

It all began on August 30, 1975, when WMT Radio announcer Dick Hardiman reported that it was only 200 days to St. Patrick’s Day.
